Ed really likes Legos. He builds something before most of his shows and gives it to a fan during the concert. He even has a tattoo of a Lego figure. Oh, and there’s also that song he wrote.
Lego bricks can be taken apart or broken apart, much like relationships. This could also be wordplay, alternating “Lego” and “let go.”

He’s unsure about his feelings for her, still. He’s not sure whether his love for her is strong enough to last. And he’s not sure if he always loves her.
“Wake me up” generally means “love me,” like the fairy tale Sleeping Beauty.
Only the love of her life could wake her up with a kiss, hence the statement “wake me up.”
So what Ed Sheeran might mean is that he loves her only when she loves him — he’s not sure, he doesn’t know what love is yet.
Ed states on his live ustream version of the song that he wrote the song about all the weird things a partner may do when you’re in the relationship. Once he was out he began to miss those things and put them all into a song. “Maybe I’m just in love when you wake me up” suggests that maybe he’s in love with the smaller things because he no longer is the relationship as the girl has “woken him up” and left.
We also call a world-changing realization an awakening. Not only does he want her to wake him up in this sense, but he also wants her to change the way he sees the world. The lyrics in this song seem to say that she’s already shifted his perspective quite a bit, and that’s a part of a reason why he loves her – she woke him up.
