Rafer Alston was the rare And1 Tour veteran that also achieved mainstream college and NBA success – he played Division I NCAA ball at Fresno State and had an 11-year NBA career. Elzhi started working with Slum Village on their follow up to Fantastic, Vol. 2 and soon became an official member – thus the “slummin'”. He stayed with the group from 2002-2010, producing several projects, Trinity: Past, Present And Future, Detroit Deli: A Taste Of Detroit, Slum Village, Villa Manifesto EP, Villa Manifesto.

Label drama, misunderstandings with T3, etc. , detailed in this interview led to Elzhi leaving the group.

So now he’s back doing it without the Slum co-sign.
