Ellie joins with a massive “we” here to create a fire of energy that will be visible near and far. Numbers are the most important thing if you want lights to be seen from space—even Christmas lights can do the trick if you have enough of them.
Unfortunately, if you do see a fire from space, it’s probably bad news, as in the massive 2013 wildfires in Australia, seen below in a picture from the International Space Station. Over 200 homes were destroyed, 2 people were killed, and the cost of damage exceeded 94 million Australian dollars.
