This line may harken back to the one of the album’s overarching themes. Being titled After the Disco, many lyrics on the record reflect a shift from an end to a new beginning. Perhaps he thinks this girl is stuck in another era, the much more promiscuous era of disco, and is trying to continue her lifestyle in a time when much more is expected of her.
