[Intro: Man's Voice]
This guy is a bulldozer with a wrecking ball attached
He'll leave a ring around your eye and tread marks on your back
He's an animal
He's hungry
You ain't been hungry, since "Supreme Clientele"
Remember what you first told me when I took ya in
You wanted to be a fighter (Yeah!)
You wanted to be a killer (New York Stand Up)
You wanted to be the Champ! (Got your boy in the booth nigga)
You ain't hungry
Matter of fact I don't want you in my gym
Get out of my ring, you disgust me
The Champ by Ghostface Killah

Whoever did the intro did a fantastic job of emulating Burgess Meredith from the Rocky movies. Meredith plays Mickey, an ex-boxer and Rocky’s manager/trainer, and was nominated for an Academy Award for his role in the original Rocky film.

The voice serves as a pre-game, or in this case, pre-verse pump up to Ghost. The voice references how Ghost “ain’t been hungry since Supreme Clientele”, noting the criticism that Ghost hasn’t been able to release anything up to the standards of that classic since. Fishscale proved them wrong.

A MAC-20 maybe if I didn't subtract ten Da Funk by Redman

Red might have used a MAC-20 (an imaginary gun, but it sounds bigger and better) if he didn’t already kill 10 people with his MAC-10.

Mediocre lyricist who burnt with degrees
Of two-ten
Not from an oven, but MAC-10
Da Funk by Redman

Red’s fire burned rival emcees. The fire didn’t come from an oven as expected, but came from a MAC-10 automatic machine gun.

This line can also be taking a shot at “intelligent rappers”; rappers who try hard to sound smart and often criticize gangsta rappers. Even if they had university degrees, they’re still going to burn with the rest of them.

Also referring to a few lines ago, where Red spits “And brother it takes ten to conquer”. At first look, it looks as though Redman is saying that it takes ten men to conquer something. However when listening to the next few lines, it is revealed that Red is talking about a MAC-10 automatic pistol, and how firepower is needed to gain power.

Make my funk, the P-Funk
I wants to get funked up
Da Funk by Redman

P-Funk is a style of funk characterized with anyone associated with funk legend and ParliamentFunkadelic frontman George Clinton. The music is characterized by the spacey synthesizer melodies, squealing electric base, and lyrics devoted to sex and drug-related humour and sociopolitical satire. Redman uses this P-Funk style throughout his career, mainly on this album, to great success.

This lyric is also a quote from the Parliament song “P-Funk (Wants to Get Funked Up)”, off the classic Mothership Connection album.

I cough up a lung cause I freak it with the tongue Blow Your Mind by Redman

Redman rips it on the track so hard he might eventually cough up his lung. It may also be partly because of his habit to indulge heavily in weed.

Cause the lyrics and tracks, make me funky like cottage cheese Tonight's Da Night by Redman

The best way to describe the the texture and especially the smell of cottage cheese is funky. Maybe in a different context than Redman would like to think of himself, or knowing Reggie, maybe not.

This isn’t the only time that Red has referenced cottage cheese and its funk.

I roughen up the rough draft to like make your head split Tonight's Da Night by Redman

A rough draft is usually a work in progress, the first step in creating a good copy of something; in this case rhymes. Coming from the streets, Redman likes it rough, even rougher than the rough draft; rough enough to blow your mind".

Where I ended wasn't deaded, like no exit except the entrance That Real by Oddisee

If he isn’t going to exit life through death, the only way would be how he came into life; from the womb. He will retreat to where he came from, gracefully moving from one world to the next, where he will be born again.
