P-Funk is a style of funk characterized with anyone associated with funk legend and Parliament-Funkadelic frontman George Clinton. The music is characterized by the spacey synthesizer melodies, squealing electric base, and lyrics devoted to sex and drug-related humour and sociopolitical satire. A slightly different wording of the common idiom, “time waits for no one”. The meaning of this is that no one is powerful enough to stop the forward progression of time.
In a slightly different sense this can mean that nothing really progresses in time, which is further solidified by the rest of the line, in which XO talks about his primates. It is believed that humans evolved out of primates years ago, but if “time waits for no one” including mankind, we are still as primal as we were thousands of years ago.
Another take on this is that the people XO hung out with were less than human, fiends at heart, and could not afford to wait for things to happen.
