“Yes Indeed” is the first collaboration between Drake and Lil Baby. It was premiered by Lil Baby himself on April 6, 2018, at Atlanta’s Empire Lounge. The song was originally thought (by fans) to be titled “Pikachu” or “No Keys,” but it was officially released under the title “Yes Indeed.”

The track was played in full on Episode 62 of OVO Sound Radio on May 12, 2018, during Oliver’s set and officially released on all streaming services on May 15, 2018.

The song appears on Lil Baby’s album, Harder Than Ever.

On an episode of Genius' series For The Record, Baby said the Pikachu reference was inspired by Drake’s yellow Ferrari:

He got a yellow LaFerrari, a Ferrari. So I was like, ‘Yellow Ferrari like Pikachu.’ But I was talking about his car. And we went on with it.

The single’s cover, a re-elaboration of the Ferrari official logo, recalls the theme present in both Drake and Lil Baby’s verses.

Days before the release of “Watch,” Kanye mentioned his Opioid addiction in a TMZ rant/interview. According to Ye, he became addicted to opioids following a liposuction procedure and his on-stage breakdown in late 2016. In the interview, Kanye noted that he had been taking two opioids per day following the procedure. After someone on his team said, “these are used to kill genius,” Ye immediately stopped taking the pills—two days later, he was hospitalized and his prescription was bumped up to seven pills daily.

This seemingly inappropriate recommendation from Ye’s doctor ties into a much larger epidemic happening in the United States in which highly-addictive opioids are overly prescribed, leading to both patient overdoses and an abundant street supply of unused pills. Statistics put the annual deaths from opioid overdose at around 64,000 with suspected overdoses also claiming the lives of rappers Lil Peep and Pimp C in the last 10 years.

Ye uses the term “trap” in both senses of the word. Since opioids are addictive, they can leave a patient/user feeling “trapped.” In another sense, a pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry as a whole could be seen as a “trap house” so-to-speak due to their peddling of these dangerous drugs.

“Bezos” likely refers to Jeff Bezos, the CEO of Amazon. Kanye’s wife, Kim Kardashian supports him in his mission to become a wealthy, impactful CEO like Bezos, whereas the pills hold him back. In 2017, Ye gifted Kim a Christmas present of stocks in several companies, including Amazon.

This sample is taken from O'Shaughnessy Hartley speaking during a KHOU 11 News story covering the day AstroWorld, a former Six Flags theme park, was closed.

The song likely begins with this sample as a subtle way of comparing Travis’ album, ASTROWORLD, to the theme park; the album figuratively serves as the park’s “last ride.”

In a March 2017 interview with GQ, Travis explained the significance behind the title:

They tore down ‘AstroWorld’ to build more apartment space. That’s what it’s going to sound like, like taking an amusement park away from kids. We want it back. We want the building back. That’s why I’m doing it. It took the fun out of the city.
