I ain't fuck her, but I'm thinking 'bout it
My niggas say why you gotta think about it?
The bitch want too much, hit my phone too much
If I gotta be frank about it, ain't worth the stress
Trouble by J. Cole

Cole hasn’t hooked up with her, but he’s thinking about it pursuing her. Cole’s friends are like, WHAT’S THERE’S TO THINK ABOUT? Little do they know, she’s been blowing up his phone and he’s hella busy right now. It isn’t worth it.

I'm bout to go and join the Illuminati
Fuck everybody
I'm bout to go and join the Illuminati
Fuck everybody
I'm bout to go and join the Illuminati
Fuck everybody
I'm bout to go and join the Illuminati
Villuminati by J. Cole

Villuminati is a song about the pressure Cole feels to succeed with Born Sinner. If you believe in the Illuminati (and you really should! it’s one of the most fun conspiracies), then you know it’s a group that’s essentially rigged the system (the financial markets, trends, moon-landings, you name it). Cole’s like, “Fuck this pressure, Illuminati doesn’t have to worry about anything”.

Plus, they’ve got some dope graphic designers!

Tracy McGrady 2012-2013 Roster by San Antonio Spurs

Rap Geniuses will remember Tracy McGrady from Jay-Z’s:

Bang like T-Mac, ski mask air it out
Gotta kill witnesses cause Free’s beard’s sticking out

A former scoring machine and co-founder of Air Canada (along with his cousin, Vince Carter in their days playing for the Toronto Raptors)

He’s regulated to a bench role with the Spurs, but on the bright side he won his first playoff series and he finally gets to play for a winner

I took a train down memory lane
And watched little Jermaine do his thang before he made a name
Rich Niggaz by J. Cole

Well, before he was J. Cole…

…he was just little Jermaine

He listened to old Cole before he got a deal and realized he misses the hunger he had, like basquiat (that he mentions in the next lines), who didn’t paint the same when he got signed by Sony (well that’s a picture).

This could be a subtle reference to Nas' chorus from “Memory Lane (Sittin' in Da Park)", as we know in Let Nas Down that Nas deeply inspire him in his raps. At the time of Illmatic (1994), Cole was 9 so he was still a "Lil Jermaine.”

Hova also “took a trip down memory lane at the cemetery”, talking about the “Gift and the Curse” that Nas refers to in the Let Nas Down remix. That’s a big accumulation of references…

I ain't mad at that nigga
But if a plane crashed and it only killed his lame ass
I'd be glad it's that nigga, nigga
Rich Niggaz by J. Cole

Cole doesn’t wish his stepfather ill will, but I mean if he was in a plane crash he wouldn’t be on CNN checking for updates. *Coleshrug *

It’s also a reference to the idea that he’d rather have a bad person such as his stepfather killed instead of a better person on the same plane, if one were to die.

We don’t have enough rafts! We need a volunteer to go down with the plane? I’m looking at you, J. Cole’s step dad

I ain't bad as that nigga plus dawg I'm a grown man now Rich Niggaz by J. Cole

Cole is a better man than his step father. I mean, c'mon, he’s J. Cole! Rapper, producer, singer, and a grown ass man.

He’s also criticizing himself here; he’s saying that now “he’s a grown man” and doing the same things his shitty step-dad did. So rather than be mad at his step-pops, he’s just like him, which is arguably worse. Also, being mad at your step father for things that happened when you were a child are childish feelings still.

Delivering pizzas you think she out here getting robbed
Please God watch her I know how niggas do
Rich Niggaz by J. Cole

Cole is right to worry about his mom’s safety while delivering pizza. It’s an unfortunately easy way to get robbed—you call and tell someone where you want them to be (and they have to bring money!). Here’s an instance of a pizza delivery robbery gone wrong.
