Again, referencing the destruction of Warsaw, Poland’s capital city, in the second World War.

Kind of an origin story of the villain. Just walking around, being annoyed with everything and failing to understand his own city. Striving for wealth and glory.

This is the opening of a villain theme that I’m creating in the second verse. I’m calling out the good guys, the superheroes.

The idea of this line is that the villain prompted some disastrous event only, his only reason being to get Clark Kent (Superman) to change his clothes and run to the rescue, leaving Lois Lane alone. Oh, she’s also exposed to the Kryptonite substance – Clark’s only weakness. He’ll be unable to be with her after the thing.

Sampling Royce’s “hi, Rihanna” from the Shady 2.0 cypher.

I guess I’m hallucinating now, cutting off Royce’s limbs and doing something questionable to RiRi. This marks the third time – that I can think of on the spot – that I mention her in a song. Weird

Again with the bible. This time, referencing the “burning bush” incident.

There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.

In a simple comparison, I liken it to smoking weed (“burning trees”, as the KIDS say it) and hallucinating. Well, maybe something stronger than weed, then.

If you don’t know the reference then I don’t know how you came across this website. Probably the greatest story-telling verses in the history of hip-hop.

Complaining about cheesiness while using a cheesy reference? Alrighty then.

The narrative takes a turn here. The persona is watching the crowd, not really able to relate. Standing still, he decides to take care of his own business.

The shotgun/postage stamp references the feeling of irrelevance the elderly feel. The old man I’m mentioning is gripping his gun while his importance is quickly fading away. He’s as relevant in today’s world as a postage stamp is relevant in the internet era, so he’s committing suicide.

THAT’S HOW HARD I GRIP THE MIC THO

People keep finding things to occupy their minds. The Conan vs. Leno debacle had people rallying and backing Coco, trying to help him like he was a starving African boy, but actually it was was two grown millionaires fighting over a primetime spot.

The last line references the mind-boggling state of listening to hip-hop and nothing else. Some people are weird.

Not a big fan of rappers constantly referencing their spirituality on tracks, no matter which particular religion gets a mention.
