Olu feels as if he is from a different place because of how different he acts in comparison to other people.

A theme that is also explored by fellow Cleveland rapper Kid Cudi. Especially in songs like “Embrace the Martian”.

Olu brings up a subject found in Hip Hop a lot. The difference is that Olu brings it up in a different light.

A girl may strip or do porn so she can pay or rent or pay her way through college for a better life. This is something a girl may not share with her future husband because of the reputation of such jobs.

A marauder is someone/something who raids for loot/plunder/money or something of value to them. An outlaw (example of a marauder) may have to kill to get his loot, like Jonwayne kills the beat.

This may also reference the classic 1993 Hip Hop album “Midnight Marauders” by A Tribe Called Quest.

Shad with more references into mainstream Hip Hop.

He is referencing the song “Racks on Racks” by Yung Chris, which garnished the longest remix ever and many references in other rappers songs (“Gotta Have It” by Kanye West and Jay-Z).

But Shad’s reference uses his full name, Shadrach Kabango (yes, that’s his full name).

Shad is putting raps on vinyl, since vinyl is often referred to as “wax”; probably due to the fact that the master copy used to press the vinyl would be made of wax.
