Carmelo Anthony plays basketball for the New York Knicks. The purple and yellow drinks Bun B is talking about are purple drank (codeine) and a variant of purple drank made with hydrocodone instead of codeine. The variant is yellowish instead of the deep purple characteristic of purple drank’s essential ingredient. “Yellow” could also be a reference to Cristal champagne, a brand known for its high price and therefore high desirability as a Veblen good

as well as its transparent bottle, which was commisioned as a security measure by Tsar Alexander II and allows the golden color of the champagne to show through.

Slim Thug spares no expense when providing libations, opening a tab on the bar that covers the drinks of everybody present as well as bringing along a large quantity of something illicit, expensive, and purple.

Due in part to his home state of Texas, Slim Thug enjoys a cold glass (more likely a styrofoam cup) of the unofficial state beverage, an opiate mixture of prescription cough syrup and soda or Hawaiian Punch known as “purple drank.”

While this line is confusing when heard or read quickly, it does actually have a meaning, not unlike the sentence “Buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo Buffalo buffalo.” I’ll deconstruct it for you.
1: “Hot drop, drop top.” Webbie is saying that he has a nice-looking convertible, which he redundantly states has a retractable roof.
2: “Top drop, hoes drop it like it’s hot” When Webbie retracts the roof on his convertible, it makes women want to dance seductively for him. It is also a possible analogy for the swift removal of their clothes upon seeing Webbie in his car, which would certainly have been one of his top priorities when purchasing it.

Rozay is known for his immense, hoarse, brassy roar. Here, he describes it in almost hyperbolically epic terms, comparing it to an atomic explosion when he records his vocals on the Avalon 737SP Compressor/Tube Pre-Amp.

Rick also continues to draw metaphors for the gravity of his rhymes, now comparing his verses to black roses that would accompany sadness.

Ross delights in the fact that he is not beholden to the women with whom he has sex. He claims it’s an innate quality of his to bust a nut and sever all connections, an attribute which he describes as being “sucker-free” because he frees himself of women after they suck his dick. “Sucker-free” is also used to mean “no-nonsense” and “one who does not suffer fools.”

Ross wants freedom from the paparazzi, whose camera flashes make his pupil dilate. This yearning from attention is echoed in Kanye West’s “The Glory.”

Cameras flash so much that I gotta do that yayo dance.

Additionally, Ross seems to imply that greed can take root if a person is constantly hounded for attention.

You’ll be outlined in white chalk, the area will be surrounded by yellow tape, and you’ll look like you work at a butcher’s shop because your shirt will be all soaked in blood.
