To play the devil’s advocate is to take the side of a debate that you don’t agree with to explore the issue fully. Joe is doing so as he disagrees with betraying family, but he must also go against his family to tell the truth of the situation.

Metaphor

8 cliques is a lot of gang members, probably rather dangerous. You could take “flicks” (pictures) with 8 of them and you’d still not be posing a threat, even if you were posing in the picture.

A jab at “rapper” Consequence who had numerous altercations with Joe whilst filming Love & Hip Hop. Consequence assaulted Joe during their TV show reunion by sneaking behind him and hitting him, then running away after being immediately struck back by Budden’s ex-girlfriend Tahiry who was also present.

When Joe says “Both of y'all” he is referring to Consequences wife “Jen the Pen” who is also on the TV show, who apparently Joe doesn’t have a fondness for.

I think when he says “both yall can relax when it kick back” he’s saying they can relax(die) when the gun kicks back and they can relax like at a kickback party. So its a double entendre
