Comparing his career to a cigarette, which has finally burnt out. Both his rapping and his smoking have taken adverse tolls on his body, leading to him extinguish his own life. Since the constant touring killed him, it’s kind of appropriate that he takes his own life backstage, as this (metaphorically speaking) is where the whole decline has taken place – away from the face which he puts on on stage for his audiences.

This (unexpected death at the end of a song) is a common tactic from Slug, appearing in a few of his other songs such as “Hair” and “Scalp”. Hair and Scalp are basically the same songs, from the other POV respectively. But he often uses the “sudden twist” technique to end his songs, and also likes to play with using dark imagery, suicide etc. to show his anger, sadness, resignation.
