Dressers often also support a mirror, so presumably he was looking at himself and reflecting on the person he is.

As mentioned in the annotation – dressers often support a mirror – and considering his fragile mental/emotional state in this verse; could it not be possible that he is laying on the floor looking at the dresser so as not to face himself in the mirror. So as not to be confronted with his current reality.

Mirrors on dressers are normally much higher up than at floor level, making it implausible to be laying on the floor and looking at yourself in the mirror of a dresser. Meaning that even if he were looking at the mirror he possibly was looking at the reflection of his world through the mirror and not at himself.

This adds another dimention to the rhyme, as it could denote an unwillingness to deal directly with his world rather opting to play the observer, possibly as a way to gain a different perspective on his curent situation.

Jay’s childhood consisted of cartoon watching and dancing. The Moonwalk is the famous dance made especially famous when Michael Jackson performed it. The Windmill is a signature break-dancing move.

“Freeze for the picture” might mean that Jay wishes he could’ve frozen time so that he was still a child and somewhat insulated from the problems of life.

If Hitler was who he was due to Germany’s Defeat then Jay is going through the same frustration due to the negative views of his people through mass media (channel 4 news)
