Cher Lloyd

Cher Lloyd is an English singer, songwriter and rapper who rose to fame on the 2010 series of X Factor UK. Lloyd’s audition was unique as she performed Keri Hilson’s version of Soulja Boy’s “Turn My Swag On”, which isn’t a ‘traditional’ audition song. The audition has now been watched on YouTube over 65 million times and has over 300k likes. During the series, Simon Cowell called Cher’s performance of Stay “the best performance of the season”. In the end, Cher reached the final of the show and came in 4th place.

Lloyd then went on to record her debut album, Sticks + Stones, with Simon Cowell’s record label, Syco Music. The album spawned hits like “Swagger Jagger” which reached #1 in the UK Singles Charts, as well as “With Ur Love”, but her biggest break came when she targeted the American market with a solo version her third single, “Want U Back”. The song was released as her debut single in the and reached a peak position of #12 on the Hot 100. This led to her signing to the US major label, Epic, and releasing a remastered version of Sticks + Stones targeted towards the America audience. The album reached a peak position of #9 on the Billboard 200.

After the success of her debut album, Lloyd began working on her second project, Sorry I’m Late with Epic Records, and released it on the 27th May 2014. The album got favourable reviews, and debuted at #12 on the Billboard 200.

Since parting ways with both labels, Lloyd has begun work on her third studio album completely independent in 2016. She released the buzz single “Activated” – as a memo to fans on 25 July 2016.

She returned two years later in October 2018 with “None Of My Business”. Produced by Hitimpulse, the single followed a signed record deal with label giant Universal Music. The song sold more than a million copies worldwide and is certified Gold in Brazil. She released “M.I.A” almost a year later.

With 5 top 10 singles and several nods from award shows including UK Music Video Awards, Radio Disney Music Awards, and MTVs Europe Music Awards, Lloyd has collaborated and shared the staged with artists such as Taylor Swift and Demi Lovato.
