Diamond Head

About Diamond Head

Few bands can say they have had such an influence on big bands such as Metallica and Megadeth, despite not enjoying much fame themselves. Diamond Head are an English heavy metal band formed in 1976. The band was part of the NWOBHM movement. They released their first studio album, Lightning To The Nations, in 1980 on their independent label Happy Face Records. Managed by Reg Fellows and lead singer Sean Harris' mother, the two had conflicting opinions on what was best for the band, keeping them out of a major label record deal and stunting their rise to stardom. The band fell apart in 1985, just two years after releasing their third studio album Canterbury, but returned briefly to release their fourth, Death and Progress, in 1993. Diamond Head returned a second time in 2002, this time for good, and released their first studio album in 12 years, All Will Be Revealed, in 2005. Their latest release, The Coffin Train, is a true testament to a band that kept on going despite not making it as big as they hoped.
