FIFA

FIFA, an acronym for Fédération Internationale de Football Association or International Federation of Association Football in English, is an international governing body of association football, beach football and futsal. It was initially founded in 1904 to oversee international competitions among the nations of France, Germany, Spain, the Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, and Switzerland. It is headquartered in Zurich, Switzerland. It now comprises 211 national associations. Russia was suspended in 2022 following the invasion of Ukraine.
