About Dom Dolo

Dominic Anthony Thomas (born October 12, 1991), better known as Dom Dolo (also know as Legacy), is an American rapper, animator, and was a member of the now-defunct Hip-Hop duo, New Boyz.

Dolo began rapping at the age of eight after watching a music video by Bow Wow. With Dom’s birthday being a day apart of Ben J, they pooled their gift money to buy recording equipment. Thomas then taught himself how to make beats for him and Ben J’s songs. After Thomas transferred to a new school in May 2008, the two decided to form a group.

In 2010, while still being apart of the New Boyz, Dolo released his debut mixtape, Your New Favorite Rapper, on December 19, 2010. It includes features from the likes of Tory Lanez, Tinashe, Shanell, Oktane, and Kid Ink.

Dolo is known for songs such as “FM$ (Freak My Shit)” and “You’re a Jerk”. After the New Boyz had split in 2013, Dom Dolo started working on his independent released, with his second mixtape, Dolo, being released on June 21, 2013.

In 2014, Dolo released two projects: July’s Dolo x II, and August’s Clothes On – Choice Cuts. Both the projects feature Jonn Hart, who is the sole feature. The following year, in 2015, Dolo released his fourth mixtape, Dolo 3. The mixtape contains features from Tyga, Doja Cat, Antionia, and more. It would end up being Dolo’s final mixtape for a while, as he would end up releasing a slew of singles on his SoundCloud page throughout the span of 2015-2021.

Entering into 2021, Dolo released his fifth mixtape, Crash Land, which serves to be his first mixtape in over six years. Then in the following year of 2022, Dolo and Ben J of the New Boyz released their first single in over seven years, “You’re a Jerk 2.” It serves as the official sequel to their hit song of the same name.
