One Day as a Lion

About One Day as a Lion

One Day As A Lion is a 2008 side project by Zack de la Rocha of Rage Against The Machine and Jon Theodore, formerly of The Mars Volta.

Their name was inspired by photographer George Rodriguez’s 1970 photo of graffiti, which read:

It’s better to live one day as a lion, than a thousand years as a lamb.

This saying was popular in 1930s Italy and apparently inspired by Psalm 84:10:

Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.
