Poor Righteous Teachers

About Poor Righteous Teachers

Poor Righteous Teachers (often shortened to PRT), were a pro-black hip-hop group active from the late ‘80s to early 2000s, founded by the rapper Wise Intelligent, backup vocalist Culture Freedom and producer Father Shaheed (deceased in 2014).

The name of the group was a reference to the Nation of Gods and Earths belief that 5% of the world’s population are enlightened “poor righteous teachers” whose task is to civilize (educate) the 85% of the uncivilized people who have been misled by the 10% of people in charge of the world, such as politicians, bankers, etc.
