About Sirah

Sara Elizabeth Mitchell, better known by her stage name Sirah as a female hip hop star, who was previously known as Sirah One and was originally born in Long Island, New York, but later moved to Washington, D.C. with her father. Unfortunately, when she was six, her father died of an overdose. So she then returned to New York. She had a very rough childhood. She moved again, this time to Los Angeles, when she was fifteen, and she still lives there. She is mainly famous for being featured on the Skrillex songs “Bangarang” and “Kyoto”. In 2007, she released her first studio album, Clean Windows, Dirty Floors. which later and eventually attracted the attention of electronic DJ and producer (famously or infamously known for his music) Skrillex through MySpace. In 2010 she was featured on Skrillex’s debut EP My Name Is Skrillex on the song “WEEKENDS!!!” as the leading vocalist. Later, in 2011, he again recruited her, this time as the female vocalist for “Bangarang” and “Kyoto”, both tracks off of his 2011 EP Bangarang.

Following the release of her 2012 sophomore album/mixtape C.U.L.T. and the deluxe version Too Young To Die as well as her 2013 EP Inhale, she then took a two-year hiatus. During this time she won a Grammy (Best Dance Recording) with Skrillex at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards which was awarded over the wild success of “Bangarang” in September, taking EDM by storm. Returning brightly with the feature of her on the Demi Lovato track “Waitin For You” in 2015 on Lovato’s album Confident, and later with “Memories”, also a feature (which was composed of dance DJ and producer KSHMR and EDM duo Bassjackers). Both releases had music videos released in 2015. She didn’t stop there: in 2016, she once again provided the vocals to a track in the form of a feature, this time “Text Me Back” by TQX (simultaneously also including KOOL a.D., a fellow hip hop artist).

In 2018, she released her first solo single, “Shots”. She has been continuing to release singles, with the most recent being “Bist du da” in mid-2022. It is unclear whether she will release an album or will just continue to keep releasing singles.
