About Spider

Formed in 1977, Spider was New York based pop rock/AOR band.
The band consisted of Amanda Blue Leigh (vocals), Keith Lenin (guitar), Jim Lowell (bass), Holly Knight (keyboards, main songwriter), Beau Hill (keyboards from 1981-1984) and Anton Fig (drums).

They released two albums with Dreamland Records in the early 1980s with their debut album Spider spawning a Billboard Top 40 hit in “New Romance (It’s A Mystery).” The tracks “Change” and “Better Be Good To Me” from their sophomore album Between The Lines would become hits for John Waite and Tina Turner respectively.

In 1982, the band would change their name to Shanghai and release one final album, also titled Shanghai, before disbanding.
