Sugarhill Gang consisted of 3 MC’s: Wonder Mike, Big Bank Hank and Master Gee.
The trio was created by producer Sylvia Robinson in Englewood, NJ. March 1979.
The group and the record company are named after the Sugar Hill, Harlem, neighborhood.

The band is mostly known for its megahit Rapper’s Delight released September 1979, sampled on Chic song “Good Times” that came out June 1979 on single (b/w “A Warm Summer Night”).

The very first single “Rappers' Delight” from Sugarhill Gang became a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, and ranked #251 on the Rolling Stone magazine’s list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Nowadays, everyone knows Sugarhill Gang through that funky fresh rap track.
