About The Magician

The Magician, stage name of Stephen Fasano, started out as part of the Belgian DJ duo Aeroplane in 2007 together with DJ and record producer Vito De Luca. Fasano parted ways with De Luca in 2010 to focus on his own solo project.

Fasano quickly signed with French label Kitsuné and released his debut EP “Twist” in 2011 and his debut single “I Don’t Know What to do” in October of the same year. The singles “Memory” and “When The Night Is Over” followed in 2012 and 2013 respectively.

Fasano gained widespread recognition with his remix of Lykki Li’s “I Follow Rivers” in 2011, which went on to top the charts in several European countries and reaching the top 10 in many other countries. His remix of Sam Sparro’s “Happines”, released in 2012, also proved successful in his homecountry Belgium and several other European countries.

In september 2014 Fasano released “Sunlight” featuring British synth-pop band Years & Years. The single peaked inside the top 10 in the UK. Together they performed the song during the 2014 MTV Europe Music Awards in Glasgow, Scotland. The follow-up single “Together” was released in 2015. His collaboration with British singer-songwriter Julian Perretta “Tied Up” was released in 2017.

The Magician started his own record label POTION in 2015. Every month Fasano posts mixtapes on his SoundCloud profile called “Magic Tapes”.
