Jay Electronica on Katrina and 9/11
I turned on the Made In America stream yesterday right as Jay started performing, which was a pleasant surprise bc I don’t think he was even on the bill. I had to leave 3 songs in but when I came back my brother said that at the end of the performance, Jay talked about how the government had set charges on the levees in New Orleans, just like they had on the twin towers.
I’m just wondering what people think about this, especially fellow Jay fans. While it won’t affect my enjoyment of his music, I was still pretty damn disappointed to hear it.
Why are you disappointed about that?
Do you not find it a little crazy that he thinks the government bombed the levees? I’m disappointed bc I thought Jay was more intelligent than that
If you listen to Jay E some more, you would understand his theories.
More intelligent than that?
I know y'all don’t wanna get down to the nitty gritty bout nothin' here on a hip hop site unless it’s about hip hop, but then, we have threads like these about comments like Jay’s. What to do?
Just ignore it? Call the artist ignorant? It’s not intelligent to speak of these things?
Hip Hop is supposed to be anti-establishment. Not Fox.
If you don’t wanna know anything about it, then carry on. I just don’t know how you are going to listen to someone that you have such important conflicts of interest with. That’s ya boy, right?
He’s not the only one.
Here, here’s some reading material.
The ugly truth is that all ‘anti-terrorist’ measures are designed not to protect the American people from attack or to protect our ‘freedoms,’ but to protect wealth and power – specifically the unprecedented levels of wealth currently held by corporate America – and to restrict those very freedoms that threaten their hold on that wealth. This American tragedy, in other words, plays directly into the hands of the corporate and military elite of this nation, who have for years been propagandizing for a more belligerent and imperialistic foreign policy and for more repressive legislation here on the homefront. Having been presented with a pretext to enact such measures, it is our leaders – elected or otherwise – who stand to gain the most from yesterday’s bloodshed.
As for the question of who had the means and opportunity to commit these crimes, the official story holds that they were the work of a well-organized foreign terrorist organization. Officials have acknowledged that the operation was an exceptionally well-planned and well-coordinated series of attacks that required months of planning and a large network of co-conspirators to pull off. So well-organized was the operation that government spokesmen and television talking-heads (which are really the same thing) have been at a loss to explain some of the day’s events. Many questions have been left unanswered and some haven’t been asked at all. Some of the answers that have been offered have strained credibility far past the breaking point.
One question that has gone unanswered is how a plane was able to penetrate so deeply into the Pentagon’s airspace – even after two other planes had already plowed into the World Trade Center towers. Despite the ridiculous current claims, the airspace surrounding the Pentagon is perhaps the most tightly controlled, militarily secure airspace in the world. This would be all the more true in the immediate aftermath of a large-scale ‘terrorist’ attack on New York City.
tl;dr I know. That’s the problem. But don’t go around insulting others and declaring them unintelligent. Jay has probably read a thing or two. You should try it sometime.
Conspiracy theories everywhere! (puts on tinfoil hat)
ok jay has an opinion on some matters that differ from yours. how does that disappoint ya?
No offence but almost all conspiracy theories are attention seeking bullshit (most of them contradict each other from the start) or misguided efforts to find deeper meaning or be anti-establishment. Personally I reckon Jay’s wrong (just because he’s read up on it doesn’t mean he’s right, you can read anything if you look for it). But I agree that it shouldn’t affect how you listen to his music. As another example, I’m Atheist, but it doesn’t stop me listening to loads of religious rappers, even if they preach their religion in their music. It doesn’t change the lyrical skill, the flow, or most of the content.
“No offence but almost all conspiracy theories are attention seeking bullshit (most of them contradict each other from the start) or misguided efforts to find deeper meaning or be anti-establishment.”
None taken, but…
The information is there. The problem is there are a lot of phony mufuckas out there. Some of them think they are right, some are just fucking with people, and some are paid to mislead. So yeah, there are some attention whores out there, but it doesn’t make the truth any less true. Just harder to find. Which creates a lot of skeptics.
We all know the gov’t. lies, but to what extent?
Anyway, I know nobody here really cares. If you did, you would know a thing or two about it. Reading helps. Not just following blindly what you have read. If your sources are good then it will come with sources that often come from ‘the powers that be’ themselves.
For example, David Rockefeller said this,
“This present window of opportunity, during which a truly peaceful and interdependent world order might be built, will not be open for too long — We are on the verge of a global transformation. All we need is the right major crisis and the nations will accept the New World Order.”
“Some even believe we (the Rockefeller family) are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure—one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it”
“We are grateful to The Washington Post, The New York Times, Time Magazine and other great publications whose directors have attended our meetings and respected their promise of discretion for almost forty years. It would have been impossible for us to develop our plan for the world if we had been subjected to the bright lights of publicity during those years. But the world is now more sophisticated and prepared to march towards a world government. The super-national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers is surely preferable to the national auto-determination practiced in past centuries.”
And that’s just one guy, but a very rich and very powerful one.
Here’s George Washington,
“It is not my intention to doubt that the doctrine of the Illuminati and the principles of Jacobinism had not spread in the United States. On the contrary, no one is more satisfied of this fact than I am.”
So there you go. Don’t take my word for it. Take theirs.
I know what the consensus is here. I usually don’t speak on these matters here on RG, I actually come here to take a break from it all. But when someone else brings it up, I can’t help but to comment.
When cats like Kendrick Lamar make comments like “who said a black man in the illuminati…” it throws a lot of people off. Of course they aren’t IN the Illuminati. But their bosses bosses bosses, are. Kendrick knows, though.
You still haven’t addressed why the government would bomb the levees
Please, tell US Moor. I’d like to hear your views on Jay-E and the Rothschild woman.
To kill more people, yo!
My views on Jay and the chick; I wonder why he was rubbing elbows with Rothschilds to begin with? Perhaps he’s in the club.
I love KRS One, though we aren’t exactly talking about Mayans, are we? Check him out in The Obama Deception, though. He talks about Obama carrying on the Bush agenda, ‘because a politician is a politician’ and how they ‘put a black face on the new world order’. Peep game:
Perhaps Jay-E is my friend…as for KRS, I was part of his 2002 entourage' of the Temple of Hip Hop in Atlanta. Matter of fact KRS-ONE_BDP is essentially what the letters of my _S.K.O.Rg (UnderScore) movement pays homage to.
Now…I would like your view on this…fair warning, the concept was derived from a feudal Rap Battle which occurred here on RG but was converted into a Moor Relevant And Purposeful project for Independent & Unsigned Artists. But unfortunately there are still a few disdained & disgruntled Mods, Editors, & Groks opposing the fact I took NOTHING…AND TURNED IT INTO SOMETHING.
^ Correction: “Perhaps Jay-E is part of the club, my friend.”
He is from New Orleans. He knows how strong those Levees were supposed to be.
He, most likely, has family there whom he trust and probably told him.
I lived in Baton Rouge when Katrina came and when kids from New Orleans transferred here some of them spoke of hearing explosions around that time around the levee too.
I hate conspiracy theories, because they send people down a wandering rabbit hole that can or may never be solved, but on the other hand the government pulls tricks in the people’s face everyday, so Why wouldn’t it be true? You put money in the equation and conspiracies make a lot more sense.
