Sales Battle (Back to the forum)

Who is going to win the end-of-October sales battle between Kendrick Lamar (Good Kid, M.A.A.D City), A$AP Rocky (LongLiveA$AP), and Meek Mill (Dreams & Nightmares)? |

Hopefully Kendrick but Meek Mill will probably win with A$AP second |

Kendrick seems to have the biggest core fan base so I’m assuming he will come up trumps. Asap seems to have come out of nowhere whereas Meek has been around for while so Meek should be second. Either way Considering non of them have any hits from there albums (barring let single releases) they will all sell below 200k. Disappointing. |

Probably Kendrick. He has more buzz than either ASAP or Meek, though I expect all three to do well. |

kendrick is going to sell the least….i dunno what crack u guys r smoking but meek will sell the most, he has the biggest audience, asap will probably out sell kendrick as well just because kendrick may be ur favorite out of the three, he has the least mass appeal |

Probably Kendrick, Meek, Rocky. I hope they all three do well… Meek’s MMG publicity and Kendrick’s fan base are gonna beat out Rocky. If I personally could only get two of the three though it’d be kendrick and rocky |

Well seeing how Meek Mills “Dreamchasers 2” had 2.5 million downloads at the end of the first couple days it released….. and is currently sitting at 3.6 million downloads…. I’m gonna go out on a limb and say Meek is gonna outsell everyone. |

Lmao I bet Meek Millz sells triple what Kendrick sells. Kendrick might be the best of the 3 but he doesnt nearly have the fan base of meek, and asap still trumps him by a little |

The Maybach Music connect is gonna have a huge impact on Meek’s sale. Looking at some of the guests he has featured on it and his already sizable buzz, he’s gonna coast to first. |

My guess is it’ll probably be Meek first, followed by Rocky and then Kendrick. Like YoungGotti said, Kendrick has the least mass appeal out of the 3 of them. |

I’d say Meek, Kendrick, A$AP. Meek has one of the biggest rap fanbases around right now, almost 4 million people have Dreamchasers 2. Second Kendrick, cuz his album definitley has a buzz right now, and he has enough strong fans right now to carry his album to probably just under 100k. A$AP doesn’t really have too much cred with the mainstream or hardcore hip-hop fans as he is inbetween, and will probably sell the least. |

Meek’s mixtape DC2 got over 2MM Downloads…. Plus he is MMG and Rick Ross cosigning him (not saying MMG is good, cause they fucking suck) but that will be good marketing. I don’t see KL (who definitely has a much closer knit and critical fan base) or A$ap competing with Meek Mill. I can see Meek easily topping 150K Week 1, look for KL to be around the 80-90K week 1 sales |

After seeing the both Kendrick and A$AP live, and measuring hype, here’s how I think it will go:
A$AP introduced a couple tracks off the album at the show. All were crazyinsaneswagfly shit, and Bangladesh is a producer on one Kendrick is getting good looks and everyone is all excited for the album Meek, although having wildly successful mixtapes, will come up last (in my opinion) because the track listing looked sketchy. The biggest production name for him is Jahlil Beats, and the subject matter looks repetitive as hell |

A lot of fans are saying that Kendrick is losing his touch and that Section.80 should’ve been his debut. He released a new song earlier today produced by Hit-Boy… just some swag music from Kendrick. anyways I think A$AP Rocky will sell more just because he’s that pretty muthaf*cka. He’s in every ear, working with artists like Lana definitely added some poeple to his fan base. blah blah blah swag this swag that^ niggas/bitches/white kids love that shit = $$$ |

A$AP has somewhat of a cult following with teenagers. Older dudes don’t fuck with him too much. Older dudes way fuck with Kendrick. But if you’ve ever taken a marketing class, you know that the ages with the most money to blow are between 14-24. A$AP wins that demographic |

ASAP Rocky right now really has no hype IMO, I think he album is going to be push backed. Kendrick Lamar is getting much bigger, people still think he is a blog rapper, naw this rapper is big. He is going to sell at least 200K his first week IMO. Meek is hot but I don’t know how much he will sell. |

200k? Nas' album couldn’t do that and neither could Lupe’s, for example, and both have more buzz and notoriety than Kendrick. 200k is a big number to predict. |
