When I heard Say Whassup by Black Hippy, I thought Ab-Soul was a joke.

Then I heard Book of Soul. Everything about that song is dope. From the Bobby McFerrin Moon Dance sample to the way the whole thing is a letter to his dead girlfriend who committed suicide. I started listening to all his music. He’s definitelly the more introvertedly expressive of the Black Hippy group.

Ab-Soul isn’t one of the best rappers out there, but he’s far up in my favorites. I’m excited for any of his new music that’s coming out.

Actually Ab Soul’s in my top 5 atm…that Black Lip Bastard/Black lip Pastor line had me in awe
