If advanced lyricism would’ve become popular in the early 00’s. The majority of mainstream artists would have had abstract lyrics. Then imagine all the elitists whining about lyricism, and the low amount of party hip hop

But…that would be terrible. There was no RG in the early 00’s, no one would know what the fuck rappers were talking about, everyone would be like “Man, fuck that noise, I'mma go back to listening to Techno” within a year tops. Party Hip-Hop is what keeps the genre relevant and living.

TBH I’d stop the death of either Nujabes or ODB. ODB for obvious reasons, I love his work, there ain’t nobody like him in the game and there likely never will be again, and his death was fuckin' tragic just by virtue of how it happened. He didn’t deserve that, dude just got lost. Nujabes, though, because his death isn’t even something you can point a finger at-if you wanna be harsh you can blame ODB for his own death, or if you’re more cause-and-effect minded you can blame the people that surrounded him for keeping him steadily supplied with instruments of death, but Nujabes died in a fucking car accident. Not even like he was driving drunk or the other person was, there was just a straight accident. Listen to this and just think about that and tell me honestly that you can feel anything besides “Fuck, why did this have to be taken from us?”
