Chuck D. He’s the primary MC for Public Enemy, one of the best Hip Hop groups of all time. He has excellent vocal presence.

You get a thumbs up, even though you probably knew Public Enemy is a favorite of mine…

In terms of a solo artist, gotta give some love to Aesop Rock. Really cool rhymes, great flow, brilliant lyrics.

I actually wasn’t paying attention to your pic when I made the decision. It was more like Chuck was the only MC I could think of who was from Long Island, in the term’s traditional usage, and I wanted to post him before anyone else did.

Rakim! One of the greatest to ever grab a mic, and he practically invented internal rhymes.

It’s safe to say the greatest MCs originate from LI.

Prince Paul is from LI. Hoodie Allen is from Long Island, but he’s fucking wack. I was hoping that there was a Weathermen other than Aesop that was from LI, but I’m not that lucky.
Can we extend this thread to include Tri-State rappers? Or maybe make another thread?

Hi. I’m in this thread because somebody made a huge fucking mistake by forgetting Freddie Foxxx and R.A. the Rugged Man.
