It’s probably a near universal experience amongst music listeners; that one track (or more) on albums that, apart from that song, you can’t feel at all. Anyway, post'em up:

Full Metal off Curren$y’s Covert Coup:

http://youtu.be/_HfI57VP3U0

I’m def in the minority with my opinion on this album, but I couldn’t get into it. The concept of pairing Alchemist’s really airy, ethereal beats featuring light, melodic samples over groovin basslines and jazzy drums, with Curren$y low-key, hazy flow sounds like a great idea, but I wasn’t feeling it in practice. The beats were overly samey, and got boring easily, and The Type is one of the worst songs of the year imo. But, Full Metal is excellent, one of the reasons being that it breaks away from the above forumula. The melody is intense and almost apocalyptic sounding, and it’s placed over one of the coolest, most unorthodox drum beats I’ve ever heard. This is a song for army to march in battle to.

Just Begun off Reflection Eternal’s Revolutions Per Minute

http://youtu.be/T7APxBRUMeY

I bought this album on the strength of this song, and liking Hi-Tek’s ish on Black Star. I was met with an album almost entirely consisting of mad wack beats. Just Begun, however, works extremely well, with it’s chilled out beat led by a catchy sax (?) melody, and four emcees spitting top notch verses.

Revolutions Per Minute is not a wack album, just saying

Canibus- Even my worst album was sublime

lift you listen to Canibus so you’re probably desensitized to awful beats now, but, for real, the beats on that joint were awful.

I think his beats are pretty fine…

You think it’s bad but it’s really not, now I can really show you a bad Canibus beat srs..

Holy shit, lift, you weren’t kidding.

Dinner Time off Royce da 5'9’s Street Hop

http://youtu.be/8Pd89r_XAs0

Another album by a great emcee with wack beats. Shit, even the Primo beats on this joint were weak. It also had some seriously corny hooks. Dinner Time is a straight banger though; a horn driven beat creates an energetic, hyped feeling, while Royce and Busta spit fire, matching the intensity of the beat. A catchy flow structure that both emcees stick to rounds out this great song.

lift, if you can get Canibus to do a regular ass song with a good ass producer, I will give Canibus a shot, aight? Till then… no

@Klonopin

Canibus has worked with Nottz, Premier, Stoupe, Clark Kent, Irv Gotti, Black Milk, MoSS, Jake Once, Scram Jones, and many other known/good producers

You sir, can go eat a dick tbh.

inb4 rage argument?

Also, I don’t want you to listen to Canibus…..you’re a phaggot

^Damn. You attack everyone who doesn’t like Canibus. You act like Canibus is your artist and only you and select others can listen to them. I can listen to Canibus if I want. Klonopin can too. Just because Canibus has a bad voice, delivery, flow & horrid production I don’t listen but if all of those were good I would listen to him a bunch.

@SMFV

Obvious typo was obvious lol.

This is at the Canibus stan obviously not at you.

I didn’t attack anyone, Ijust listed names of producers Canibus has worked with….and called him a phaggot, but I’m sure he is used to that.

^I dunno man, the “C” key is no where near the “E”. I think you really though was his name, lol.

Yo lift, is Jake Once’s White Van Music worth copping? srs

It’s a habit I have, for some reason I always add a “c” to the word “one"

@supermotherfuckin
That’s funny cuz I love the hell outta Street Hop. I can get into every track on there. Do you think that the beats for “Shake This”, “The Warriors” and “New Money” were bad? Truthfully, there’s probably only 1-2 bad beats on there. (if even)

^There are some solid beats on it, but most of it is weak. I always forget how dope the beat on that Warriors track was. Shake This has ill drums in the verses, but the sample is too light for how aggressive the song is, and the shit in the chorus is wack; the whole hook is wack, actually. New Money has a nice beat too; damn, that hook is bad is awful too.

Wait, what? You thought Covert Coupe was a bad album? Thats some of Spittas best work..Your tellin me you dont like Scottie Pippens (unreal beat) or Success is my cologne (my two favorites on the album)? Blood Sweat and Gears is pretty great as well…

I didn’t know you guys hated I Am. I love that album, my third favorite Nas album right there. Off the top of my head you have NY State of Mind 2, Nas is Like, Dr. Knockboot, Kissing, Money is my Bitch, and UNDYING LOVE! Every track on that LP is good IMO. I get why you guys dislike it though, he kind of starts going towards the mainstream theme with the money talk. Also Hate Me Now is a straight banger.

Anyways…

Top Billin off this little thingy…

probably his best song but his worst album
