Which artist will represent our generation?

In my career class they talked about musicians that represented each generation and things they polittically changed and motivated people to do people such as Bob Marley or Kurt Cobain could say “Kill ______” and that guys would forsure be dead who do you think?

I think Kanye West could have if he didn’t go Kanye Kardashian and shit.

I don’t like the thought of Drake inspiring this generation. He is a talented artist at times but I think Kendrick and K.R.I.T are the faces of this generation and picking up where the greats left off before em. J. Cole pretty much had his major blow up, now he is just lingering in limbo. Tyler as well. Tyler is just a well known name and really isn’t doing anything captivating to push this youth into anything mind blowing. He just makes records and does his thing. Idk man but Kendrick and KRIT have been making both of their presences known

I just never get tired of this

While Drake may be more popular, Kendrick defenitly has more social and political critique in his music. Drake is rhe bigger artist but when it comes to the defining merits of culture, kendrick supplies this generations voice.

@C_Goomba Do legends always have to carry on from previous legends? If anything I’d say the wide variety of rappers that could be considered for legend status just proves hip-hop’s diversity
