Hey guys, I thought that this website needed an application. I created one in about a day, and although it’s still in beta stages (I did contact the website staff) it’s pretty functional. It’s free and on the Google Play Store right now. It has a few kinks including a Google Chrome User Agent (Meaning it doesn’t use the mobile style at the moment). If you can get passed that little kink, you’ll love the application! Let me stop rambling on and link up to the application.

It is compatible with about 1,100 android devices on the market so that everyone could use the application. I would love if you rated and commented in the Play Store, but I will respond to comments here as well.

Thanks, I would develop Apple applications as well but their developer fee is I believe $75 more than Android’s ($25).

I just downloaded, and from what I can tell it’s gonna be pretty good. It’s like an app version of the mobile site, but faster and easier to use, and this one lets you go on the forums! Thanks man, it’s appreciated.

Yes it does, It considerably the best in a horizontal orientation.

My bad it does not, unless you are able to highlight the text within the android application. That’ll be something I will definitely include in 1.3, though!

I honestly don’t think that should be a concern until farther down the line. Right now you should be making sure there are no bugs & fine tuning, explaining lyrics from your phone is something that can wait & will take longer to develop, and you should wait until you’re just casually working on the app.

Yeah I do understand but what features should be in that aren’t?. It would help since all I use this site for is finding meanings out.

Things you could improve:

• Figure a way to explain lyrics on this app

• Fix the sound bar to something (or somewhere) (it’s floating everywhere)

If this could help; normally, you can highlight text on a phone when you keep your finger on a line.

Haifisch, I’m not sure why the sound bar is floating all over the place. To do that highlighting, I would have to disable the pinch and zoom.

There would’ve been an iPhone application, but the $100.00 developer fee is too much for me just to be creating free applications.

@Makarov I figured something like that, that’s what I was saying, you might as well wait until any glitches that people might find in it are fixed before you work on that. Making it possible to explain lyrics would probably be really tough to implement.

I re-made zoom so that if you double tap it’ll zoom in and zoom out instead of the pinching. I’m sure the website itself already detects when words are highlighted, and then pops up the explain bubble. I could simply add Android’s own text highlight and it may work. Going to do a lot of testing today!

Your update didn’t fix the highlight bug. I guess it’s because of that zoom in/zoom out option in the corner.

So after deep research, an iPhone application possibly won’t be possible. There’s many complications with developing an apple application(fee, operating system, etc.). I’ll go into more research for it but for now I’ll rule the option out.
