[Some Bay fo' Yo Ass] #3 Paris - The Devil Made Me Do It

Since I’m talking about Bay Area rappers, it was only a matter of time before I chose a rapper with political and social conscious lyrics, and right now I’m choosing Paris.

The album’s production has this Rock sound with some dope Funk samples, also the album has an insanely big amount of scratching on the hooks and long, loud loops with a small amount of dope drums with which you might like or not, either way, I still like it…lol.

The first song, which is also the title track was actually released as a single, it has a slow Rock ‘N Roll sound and the drums come in later. Shit even got banned from MTV. The song samples James Brown’s “Funky Drummer”, LL Cool J’s “Jack the Ripper”, and Lafayette Afro Rock Band’s “Hihache”.

The other song is called “Brutal”, and the beat actually switches up at the second half of the song. Coming with raw lyricism, a slow rough flow, and Uphill Peace of Mind by Kid Dynamite as a sample the track is definitely one of my favourites of the album.
