I’ve had a pretty easy life. I dont want to lie and rap about selling drugs or money I dont want to contribute to the downfall of hip hop. The worst part of my life is probably a short tempered father. I am middle class not poor not rich. I can rap about conspiracy and america and such but the can only last so much songs. |

Not every rapper has had a hard life. A lot of them just have clever wordplay. I doubt that MC Paul Barman or Edan had a crazy tough upbringing, but they bring the cleverness. Also, you can rap about the crap that bugs you in your own life: Aesop Rock did a great job of that in “9-to-5ers Anthem.” We don’t need another rapper talking about money and cars, man. |

Speak out on the injustice you see around you. Learn. And then share what you learn with your listeners. |

^Shit, you could even do that as long as you had money and cars. Some money and cars rap is sick, UGK, pre-Curtis 50 Cent, Carter II Lil Wayne…it’s honestly okay to follow a formula as long as you’re able to improvise and change it up a little bit, enough to have your own distinct style (paired, obviously, with skill). |

Don’t rap, be half-beat like ASAP Rocky. I’m not hating ASAP, but whenever i listen to him, i compare it to a traditional rap song. Normally the beat will tone down for a verse but i haven’t seen it happen with Rocky yet |
