I know Canibus is a dirty word now but hear me out. I admit Canibus delivery was much more tenacious when he first came on the set, like you can picture saliva dripping from his lips and birds acting erratically above his head when he flowed. But far as rhyme skills Bis has gotten better. Yeah, he fell in a horrible slump when he dropped that C! Hollywood Story, Stan Lives bullshit but that Mic Club movement brought him back to life. His first album was straight weak juice, his second LP although better still fell short. But when he dropped that Mic club mixtape he was in top form. Serious shit. I think Rip The Jacka is his best album by far. When the Beats Toll and Melatonin Majik was solid releases. Frankly the old Bis couldn’t produce a solid album, the new Bis can. |

It all depends on your preference tbh. Bis won’t ever be able to satisfy people, everyone wants to see him fail. Btw, Can-I-Bus is definitely classic as is 2000 B.C. Bis da gawd tbh. |

Naw, man, if Im spelling his albums wrong than thats my bad. I didn’t take the time to do a spell check. And you thought Can-I-Bus was a classic? He had some hardlines but those beats were du-du,hooks were weak too. Take Buckingham Palace, that beat was waaaaaay below average!!! Theres no excuse for someone to have such sub-par beats in the late 90’s. Maybe Bis was so eager to spit he didn’t care about about minor details like production. When has a such anticipated artist such weak production? Ever lesser known rappers with little buzz like Nine and BlahzayBlahzay had excellent |

Say what you want about Canibus, there was one thing he will always be criticized for: his horrific selection of beats. It’s like he never listened to the production while making his own rhymes and by the time he did, it was too late. The only above-average Canibus album ever made was Rip The Jacker, where beats were completely handled by Stoupe Tha Enemy of Mankind. This is usually the Canibus people “love” along with 90’s ‘Bis where he absolutely ripped guest verses apart. |

I’ll never get his beat criticism. I really think people just regurgitate what they hear based off his first album. Canibus has worked with Clark Kent, Irv Gotti, Ty Fyffe, Stoupe, Black Milk, Nottz, Scram Jones, DJ Premier, J. Wells, Sicknature, Tha Bizness, Jake One, Domingo, Erick Sermon, Da Beatminerz, Amadeus & many other producers. Shit, even Mic Club…which had relatively unknown producers was praised for it’s production. Canibus production>>>>> |

Gotta agree with RTJ2 on the production. I actually enjoyed almost every beat on Can-I-Bus, and also on many other songs. I think people criticize his production because many times it’s very different, which I admit is not always a good thing. You don’t hear instrumentals like this very often, but I think it fits with his style perfectly. |

Canibus’s beats on his later albums are very tight. Also, Bis has the ability to spit on beats other rappers wont seem right on. Like, those Rip The Jacker beats. Someone like Krs or Kweli would'nt sound right on those beats or to the production of For Whom the Beats Toll. He’s definitely has his own niche. Shit, I feel like listening to Javelin Fangs right about now. |
