I know people like to throw the term “Classic” around. But what are some albums you believe to be classic even though it might not be a “Universal Classic”

A few that I can think of. In my opinion,

tbqh

Legacy of Blood, Port of Miami, The Eminem Show, Life After Death, The Chronic. Not in any particular order.

And this

One of the greatest hip hop albums ever IMO.
@OP I like that you posted some Dutchmassive.

I thought TES was a classic anyway.

The Roots- Undun
Kendrick Lamar- Section.80
Big Boi- Sir Lucious Left Foot
Frank Ocean- Nostalgia Ultra

These are just some of my classics from the last few years

If Earl ever makes it big in the mainstream people will start calling this the classic album he can never match.

NEW-AGE Hip-Hop Classics

This is GOAT to me

I’m a personal classic

Below the heavens
Food & Liquor
Section.80
The Cool
My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

I co-sign the YYY’s “Fever to Tell"
So underrated. I also mess with "Its Blitz”

Personal classics?:

Also American Gangster

Rasheed Chappell — Future Before Nostalgia
CunninLynguists — Oneirology

both albums from last year, both are classics in my eyes.. top 2 releases.

Elzhi — Elmatic
Los — Zero Gravity

these are both classic mixtapes in my eyes.
especially for the Los one it’s just straight murdering beats. a lot of people see Dedication 2 and Drought 3 from Wayne classics. Los kills these beats 1000x harder than Wayne ever has/could, soo.

One day people will look back on the 2000’s and wonder how this album went under everyone’s radar

My personal classics:

I have a lot of others, but i’ll stop there.

Some of you Guys don’t know what “personal” classic means… To me, Movies For The Blind was classic.

my not be classics to anyone else, but it reminds me of certain times in my life….and my friends and i would bump these albums beginning to end

mixtapes that are personal classics

,

Honestly, I always thought that Jay-z/Linkin Park mashup album was really solid start to finish. Like I don’t listen to it alot but it didn’t have a bad song imo.

And non-rap, August and Everything After by The Counting Crows I think is a GOAT candidate for that kind of soft 90s rock.

Just Say When
Who Knows
Come Alive
Monsterous

36 chambers is a known classic people. –.–

As for me, my list of personal classics is riddled with new and old, and goes from hip-hop to metal and most every thing in between. In no order, here are some:

Talib Kweli — Quality
Kendrick Lamar — Section.80
Lana Del Rey — Born To Die
Joey Bada$$ — 1999
Ab-Soul — Control System
Adele — 21
Ed Sheeran — +
Florence + The Machine — Ceremonials
Arcade Fire — The Suburbs
Paul Van Dyk — Evolution
Big K.R.I.T. — Live From The Underground
blink-182 — Take Your Pants Off And Jacket
Jon Connor — Season 2
Danny Brown — XXX
Deftones — Diamond Eyes

Adele?

dafaq?

Shwayze’s debut tbh

Cinema, I have a huge taste in music and Adele is absolutely amazing. 21 was a “classic” and 19 was great. It’s just that they were overplayed (at least any song from 21).
