Most unique/best concept album? (Back to The Forum)

is undun the best example?

Undun is really good but i don’t think it’s the most unique, other than the reverse chronological timeline of events.

Great Adventures of Slick Rick anyone?

Masta Ace — Disposable Arts. The album is so live, it is more like a movie, the skits and the songs follow each other very well making the story vividly clear clear.

Undun is a great album, though the best concept album imo is Deltron 3030

The cold vein is a concept album?

Maybe if the concept is birds. Vast Aire seems to really like talking about them through the album

4eva N a Day is a concept album of sorts

but my fave concept album is Deltron 3030 since I’m really into sci-fi

This. The whole concept of Redman being in a mental ward and maybe imagining the whole thing, mixed with news reports and transitions and shit, just makes it a unique album. It flows continuously, too, giving it this story-like feel. It’s a really excellent mix of crazy, unique, and conceptual.

@Garginator I cosign you on 4Eva Na Day. I feel like KRIT should have released that as the studio album. It was much better than Live from the Underground

With me Madvillainy is my favorite album of all time, but it’s not my favorite concept album, that title goes to Deltron 3030, which is a masterpiece.

Mickey Factz — Mickey MauSe

Pretty sweet tape where Mickey takes on the persona of a 1980s artist named Mickey Mause. You can tell Mickey did his research, and results in a dope, interesting, moody mixtape.

Food and Liquor II is not a concept album per say but it is guided by the idea of an album about America

I’m sorry to ruin everyone’s moment, but what exactly constitutes an album as a “concept album?” I’m not really sure what that is……

the songs in the album that has a particular theme/idea

for example, tyler the creator’s albums Bastard and Goblin were concept album because he was having a “therapy session” with “Dr. TC”

so essentially, all the songs are connected because of this “theme/idea”
