In my world = In frank’s mind.
In the character’s imagination they arrived safely.
But in reality they did not.
They didn’t escape her father’s army.
And the safety and solace they wanted, they never reached.

I feel like the opposite is true. They did escape the army, they just still have a long way to go.

Monae asks if she’s a freak because she likes watching Mary. It is likely Janelle is referencing Tina Turner whose dance moves, attitude, and stage presence liekly influenced Janelle. Tina Turner is also famous for the song Proud Mary.

It is also possible Janelle is saying she likes watching Mary, and Mary is just a name for a random woman who she enjoy watching. Now in what context is the question — what exactly is Mary doing?

I thought she meant, “is she a freak for enjoying watching another woman masturbate/have sex?”

Maybe = Yes, you’re freaky; no you aren’t a FREAK (because a lot of people do it).

This may be a reference to Blueberry Mary from Ms. Monae’s song Mushrooms & Roses of The ArchAndroid
“I remember one of the regulars/Her long, grey hair/Beautiful smile and rosy cheeks/Her name slips my mind…/Ahhh, her name was…/Blueberry Mary/and she’s crazy about me”

Or, more frivolously (and in keeping with the GLBT tip), it could be referring to the OLD OLD OLD school soap opera, “Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman.”

Even the top dogs of rap such as Dr.Dre, 50 Cent, etc., are giving Top Dawg Ent their dues. RAP ROYALTY.

Andre’s message goes through his music and into the ears of a child so easily. (Think of how easy it is to find porn/illegal music on the internet now)

Kids are sneaky.

Andre is saying life has given him so much experience that it’s too much fit inside 16 bars. Experience is the best teacher. It speaks you listen. And then hopefully you pass that knowledge on to the next generation. In Andre’s case he’s doing it through these bars.

This is a conundrum faced by almost every musician, song-writer, and rapper. Life is

no. redbone is an african american colloquialism for a black woman (i.e. chilli from TLC, Letoya Luckett, etc..) that is not as light as high-yellow (as light as someone like Beyonce) but neither darker than someone like Kelly Rowland who would be considered chocolate.

Lil Wayne has expressed his love numerous times for this complexion of woman.

Elevating yourself/Gassing yourself up = Masturbation of the Ego…therefore Iggy is feeling herself…figuratively….and perhaps literally.

Activator is a common synonym for a perm, which is used (depending on the hair type) to either straighten it permanantly or make it curly. Activator is what activates the perm to work.

With that in mind I’m assuming by Iggy Azealia being on these hoes hair’s, she’s straightening them out.
