Cole says people only notice a black male when he’s a professional athlete or gang banging, hence the use of both drug terms and basketball terms.

Dishing = passing a basketball
Rock = nickname for basketball/nickname for crack
Also Handle the ROC — Roc Nation, the label he’s signed to.

It’s weird that the suggestion I made earlier about this line wasn’t incorporated into the annotation including the peal/pill line which was an entendre for basketball/drug pills (x-pills) and steel as a gun/baseball bat. But Hey! that’s rapgenius for you guys!

Charles Manson is best known for being charged for seven counts of murder and conspiracy. Stephen is saying he murders beats!

P.S. Manson was also a musician.

I can’t dislike you, but I will say this to you: you haven’t got long before you are all going to kill yourselves, because you are all crazy. And you can project it back at me, but I am only what lives inside each and every one of you.

The son’s of Saddam Hussein were killed during a raid that was performed by the U.S. troops, here’s what they had to say about the invasion.

They resisted the detention and the efforts of the coalition forces to go in there and apprehend them, and they were killed in the ensuing gunfight and the attacks that we conducted on the residence.

The disturbing part of this story is the death of the 14 year old grandson of Saddam’s Mustapha Hussein. Mustapha was shot to death after being the sole survivor of a barrage of anti-tank missiles during the raid by the U.S. troops

“The three in the front were killed by TOW [anti-tank] missiles,” the official said. “The fourth at the back was the last, and yes it looks like it could have been the boy.”

This girl is beginning to criticize his lifestyle choices, like his use of marijuana, which was an activity he was partaking in way before he met her. Things she overlooked in the beginning are now becoming excuses for her to argue with him.

National Public Radio recently fired Juan Williams for repeated appearances and ignorant comments he made on the Fox News Network. Juan Williams claimed that Faisal Shazad said that this attack was “the first drop of blood” as an excuse to justify his racist remarks about how scary Muslims are at airports.

It should be noted that Muslims aren’t the only ones with terrorist groups around and what we consider as terrorism is considered to be freedom fighting from some peoples point of view!

First he talks about how the quality and influence of Hip Hop music has fell off in the recent years.

Then he refers to how the American dollar is “falling off”

But it’s not just the dollar he’s talking about, recently in the past few years U.S. has been falling politically, socially, economically and isn’t even considered a Superpower anymore, China’s got us beat by a lot!

You see these dictators on their pedestals, surrounded by the bayonets of their soldiers and the truncheons of their police. Yet in their hearts there is unspoken — unspeakable! — fear. They are afraid of words and thoughts! Words spoken abroad, thoughts stirring at home, all the more powerful because they are forbidden. These terrify them. A little mouse — a little tiny mouse! — of thought appears in the room, and even the mightiest potentates are thrown into panic.
~ Winston Churchill

"Rap Genius'll decode it for me / Homie" (Ab-Soul – Only 1) | rejected

lol at the people actually explaining it XD

No shout-out? gonna go cry in the corner, brb

"The flower of life devoured into ashes" (Joey BADA$$ – Enter the Void) | accepted

This verse isn’t meant to be taken literally, by flower of life he’s referring to the good things in life, he used to see the beauty in life when he was younger but now that he’s matured that “flower of life” has been killed and devoured by “ashes” which are the harsh realities and ugly things of the world.

"Had to escape nest, told Moms I'm Apex" (Joey BADA$$ – Enter the Void) | accepted

An Apex predator is a predator that sits at the top of the food chain, when your living at home with parent’s your dependent on them therefore your not on top of the food chain but when you “escape from that nest” you become an Apex predator.

Apex can also be used as an adjective to express immense approval (as in being on top of the world) since it is Latin for the top, peak, or summit of anything.

"I'm the Messiah of rap, my catalog's the Bible" (Joey BADA$$ – Enter the Void) | accepted

Jesus is the messiah in the bible so he was the messiah of Christianity, Ab-Soul is the savior of rap and he spits verses that are related to sayings you would see in the bible.

"I'm in the 96 Impala with the gat in my lap" (T.I. – Long Live Da Game) | pending

Referring to the 1996 Chevrolet Impala

I already posted this on the actual lyric but just to make sure it’s seem “Rappers I skip on like Walter Payton”

is actually Rappers i STIFF ARM

"Rappers I stiff arm like Walter Payton" (Common – A Penny For My Thoughts) | accepted

this lyric is actually incorrect it's
“Rappers i STIFF ARM like walter payton"
Stiff arm is of course a technique used commonly by running back’s to push away defenders (also 1 of the only ways an offensive player can dish out punishment to a defender)
