Kendrick is furious with Death for ending the lives of his loved ones.

Ironically he would shoot himself if Death ever visited him when that’s exactly what he wants.

It’s not realistic because:

  • Kendrick doesn’t see himself committing suicide
  • it is a huge decision. The decision of your life, literally!

He means if it were possible, he would kill death but that’s ironic beacause it’s(death) abstract.

DOUBLE ENTENDRE

Gems are pieces of mineral, which, in cut and polished form, is used to make jewelry or other adornments. Heat can improve gemstone color or clarity. The heating process has been well known to gem miners and cutters for centuries, and in many stone types heating is a common practice.

The other side of the half-bar stands for the lyrical appeal in rap today. Most people believe we’re in the bitches, weed, money era. So while the lame MC’s get signed, the less lyrical content we come across in the mainstream.

The second bar could refer to the origination of Hip-Hop. While the genre has many roots ranging from the African sources to the elderly form of the Blues; we can all agree that it surfaced out of the stories of poverty, love and freedom which can all be found in the ghetto.

Connecting to the previous lines about dreams.

As everyone knows, Martin Luther King Jr. is possibly the most inspirational symbol of the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He was a true freedom fighter and every king needs a hand as pure and supportive as Coretta Scott King, obviously Martin’s spouse. You can see his dream here.

Chaundon explains that you can be true to your beliefs and goals and still have the girl of your dreams. Just stay true.

The second line could refer to Christopher Columbus, the celebrated explorer who sailed on a hunch that new land was out there.

Obviously there’s no chance of any new land discovery in the 21 century but you can still set sail for your life goals. Many people lose the chance to take control of their lives for endless reasons so why not forget the bad and roll with the good? You just might become an inspiration to yourself and others.

Kendrick could be referring to his self-believed purpose in the rap game. He feels like his job is to lead the new generation of youth. HiiiPower specifies this.

Also as explained in The Heart Pt. 3, the world sees him as “Pac reincarnated”, which just refers to how wise and pure Kendrick’s motives are.

Thanks to his genius, he won 2012 Lyricist of the Year. It’s his job to enlighten us and slay any lame, evil MC’s.

The girl is either a virgin or she’s still tight in the vaginal area. He wants to “smash”, in other words, have sex with her.

Comparing girls to cars seems to be Tyler’s game.

Referring to a Ford Flex, a CUV. Mainly a vehicle for large parties.

Perrion believes the rap game needs to be turnt up a notch so he compares his uniqueness to a Flex shifting gears which is something a car like that wouldn’t do very much, especially if it was in a race.

Perhaps a visual perspective?

Phencyclidine, commonly initialized as PCP and known colloquially as angel dust or wet, is a recreational dissociative drug. Formerly used as an anesthetic agent, PCP exhibits hallucinogenic effects.

Put that in a blunt and let the adventure begin!

Crème brule is a French/British desert usually served at room temperture.

The phrase “take the whole cake” is an simple idiom for usually taking the prize. The crème brule may have just been added to suggest that Bryant wins the prize of fans from more than one area.

Play on the word “eat”.

Bryant will share his success and the metaphorical cake he’s after. That is a lot of cake for one man!

And last but not least, Bryant pulls all the bitches.

The Power Rangers were the hit with their many series. Kids were just crazy about the shows and toys.

Ab-Soul was raised in Carson, CA so there was definitely gang influence in the area. Perhaps he was grounded for switching the color of his bike because of the possible effect colors had in his hood.

Ab refers to the Revelations chapter in the bible which tells of the rapture. It is believed that the good shall rise up into heaven while the unholy stay behind to suffer

As Revelations 11:15 states:

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever

Soul makes a great point. Can you really blame someone for not believing in something that you never see until you die?

“Pie in the sky” is an idiom to which it stands for a future reward after death. While that is believed, we have people dying everyday on Earth

"Braids like I'm O-Dog," (A$AP Rocky – 1 Train) | rejected

I love this track dawg. You picked the perfect set of rappers to hop on this.

Second verse doesn’t belong to Nyck Caution. That belongs to Capital STEEZ.

"Most of all I need to exist in the fourth dimension" (Ab-Soul – Top Dawg Under Dawg) | rejected

Soul also wants to feel successful like the rest of Black Hippy. Therefore, the 4th dimension could refer to the 4 members of the group.

"Baking soda YOLA whipping, ain't no turkey on Thanksgiving" (Kendrick Lamar – Money Trees) | accepted

YOLA is Jay Rock’s most recent song.

"If Pirus and Crips all got along / They'd probably gun me..." (Kendrick Lamar – M.A.A.d City) | accepted

Piru Bloods and Compton Crips are enemies. If you were to walk up into Crip territory wearing red, you’ll probably be finished. No questions asked, that’s the gang life.

Kendrick is known in Compton so he’s cool with the gang members. They even bump to his songs but their lifestyle probably won’t agree with this song.

"I recognize your fragrance (hol' up!) / You ain't never g..." (Kendrick Lamar – Poetic Justice) | rejected

“Hol Up” is a song off of Section80.

"But it don’t matter I’m on Saturn now and I won’t shatter" (J. Cole – Get Free Coleworld) | rejected

Saturn’s rings are made out of thousands of tiny ringlets or “particles”. Cole is saying that he won’t shatter like that.

Meaning he isn’t falling off. He only gets better.

"Bitch was the baddest, Her head was the greatest" (J. Cole – Freestyle At Kendrick Lamar Concert) | accepted

Cole is referring to Diggy Simmon’s sister, because he fucked her.

"My mama called – "Hello? What you doin'? “Kicking it” / I..." (Kendrick Lamar – The Art of Peer Pressure) | accepted

Kendrick was also thinking of telling his mama that there was a chance that he might get arrested. This is what peer pressure does to you when you’re trying to prove yourself worthy to certain individuals

"Better watch it, Mr. Nicewatch, don't risk that" (Joey BADA$$ – Killuminati) | rejected

Also J.Cole has a song titled “Chaining Day” and he explains what happens when you get too deep into the limelight. Joey could be warning call.
