About Heavy Metal

Heavy Metal is the first ever genre of Metal, developed from the Rock genre, with roots in Blues and Psychedelic Rock from the late ‘50s and early '60s.

The pioneers of the Genre are Black Sabbath, a Blues band that added amplified distortion, heavy guitar riffs and long guitar solos to their songs, what soon became the symbol of Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal tends to have a dense bass sound, and the drums are played mainly on one pedal, but this can differ from one band to the other.
