Artists sacrifice a lot when they sign with a major label. Sometimes that means giving up artistic control, their vision, and often their integrity. An artist might feel in control, but in reality they’ve given up their creativity. All that glitters is not gold.

Male rappers constantly speak for women in their songs: telling them them how they should dance, look, and what they should do in order to be diserable to men. That’s called patriarchy and male privilege. Later for that shit.

For Nitty Scott femcee is a deragatory term likley because it signals that a female emcee is somehow different then a regular emcee. Nitty Scott rejects that.

Notice that she also always refers to herself as an emcee. She makes the distinction between a rapper, someone who doesn’t take the craft seriously, and an emcee, who is an artist deeply engaged in their craft and always in the process of perfecting it.

Nitty Scott, MC doesn’t have time for wack rappers in general, but these lines seem to signify a particular disdain for being grouped with other female artist that are not on her level lyrically and are rhyming without a cause.

Particularly the “ryhming for Gucci, rhyming for rhyming” line could be directed at Oakland rapper Kreayshawn and her song “Gucci, Gucci”. More generally the line could also be directed at rappers who enter the game simply for the money or for the sake of putting words that sound lince. Nitty Scott, MC takes her craft more seriously.

Furthermore, female emcees are generally grouped and compared to each other even when their styles, sound, approach, and goals are completely different. This is unfair to them and to Hip Hop.
