About Bktherula

Brooklyn Rodriguez (born August 30, 2002), professionally known as Bktherula, is an American recording artist from Atlanta, Georgia.

She began releasing music in 2017 as BK, a nickname derived from her first name. These early pop and R&B works highlight her talent as a singer, a stark contrast to what she would later gain her first following from.

BK returned to music in late 2018 a rapper, releasing tracks like “Faygo” and “LEFT RIGHT,” which quickly earned her a buzz in the underground Atlanta scene. She briefly rebranded as BKBK before settling on bktherula, and removed much of her old music from streaming services.

Building off this early success, BK released “TWEAKIN' TOGETHER” in late 2019, a self-described love song that saw both critical and commercial acclaim. The track also served as the lead single for her debut mixtape, Love Santana, which released on January 11, 2020.

The versatile project soon garnered her record label attention, and BK signed to Warner Records later that spring. Outside of her solo work, she released the song, “YAAS,” with close friend HOOK under the name HULA and hinted to future releases as a duo.

Since signing, BK released her second mixtape, Nirvana, which was bolstered by three singles, including “Summer”, which has quickly become a fan-favorite. She also experienced TikTok success with tracks “No Crip” and “LEFT RIGHT”, which led both to see official releases.
