About SWAVAY

André Khaliel Jones, better known as SwaVay, is a rapper, producer, and (occasional) singer from the metro-Atlanta area. He began rapping in his teens and released his first project in 2012 (at 16).

SwaVay continued to build his name in the Atlanta rap scene by releasing thirteen mixtapes between 2012 and 2017. In July of 2017, he released a single, “QuickTrip.” Its music video caught the attention of Metro Boomin, who had just publicly announced his record label, Boominati Worldwide. Later that month, SwaVay became Boominati’s first signee.

After being signed, SwaVay began to blossom in the underground scene. He released his mixtape, TRAPLANTA 2, in August of 2018, and released a pair of singles with his new friend, James Blake, around the same time.

In December of 2018, SwaVay appeared on the Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse soundtrack on DJ Khalil’s “Elevate” alongside Denzel Curry and YBN Cordae. This feature earned SwaVay his first Grammy nomination when the overall soundtrack was nominated.

On May 24, 2019, SwaVay released his debut studio album, Pure Infinity. On November 1, he released a three-track EP titled Pure Pack.

On April 3, 2020, SwaVay independently released his mixtape, B4DALBUM. Shortly after, in June, he officially left Boominati.

SwaVay released his sophomore studio album, ALMETHA’S SON, in October 2022.
