A lot of people think that the President and the government in general should take care of everything in the country, they should improve people’s life condition, they should avoid wars, they shouldn’t raise taxes etc. without giving anything back.

Americans should support each other, pay their taxes so that other people don’t have to pay more, everyone should find their way to improve the country, somehow.

Magic Johnson was really hit by this phrase, so much that he used it constantly, in the form:

Ask not what your teammates can do for you. Ask what you can do for your teammates.

Allotments are the amount of something people are allowed to use. So Jay is saying he used up all his tweets for the year, hence the “see ya’ll 2014.”

Twitter obviously has no yearly allotment, so this is a joke on himself; Jay-Z rarely uses his Twitter account, so to tweet this much at once is about as much as he would do in a year. Other than the 6 tweets annotated here, he only tweeted 40 times since 2008.

Wale’s new album The Gifted is set for a June 25th release date. We already have the cover art and the tracklist, but the artist didn’t announce any particular event like Kanye or Cole… Yet.

On June 6th J. Cole selected a few locations in which, thanks to a special phone app, you could listen to Born Sinner 12 days earlier. This ultimately lead to the leak of the album, giving us two different way of reading the second part of the tweet:

• There’s no need to hype the album by writing a thousand articles on the web about it, people can now listen to it before the release and decide whatever they like it or not.

• Cole tried to re-write the rules with this marketing strategy but he ended up being hurt by it. After that day Cole said that everyone could listen the album on stream through Spotify. No need to talk about the leak, just enjoy the music!

Kanye projected New Slaves on 66 buildings around the world on May 28th, debuting his new single that way. No one in the history of music ever done something like that, so the cops weren’t ready and panicked. This was caused by the #newrules that he mentioned before as well.

On July 4th ‘13 (VII IV XIII) the first million of users who will log in on the Magna Carta Holy Grail app will download the album for free (See this annotation for more infos).

Billboard proceeds to rank every album through the Nielsen SoundScan, therefore the free digital copies won’t be counted in the overall number.

During Game 5 of the 2013 NBA Finals Jay-Z announced a new studio album titled Magna Carta Holy Grail.

The teaser trailer lasts about 3 minutes and it features 99 Problems‘ producer Rick Rubin and other music personalities as well.

Hova signed a partnership with Samsung that will bring the album for free to the first million users who download it through the official app that will be released on Google Play on June 24th (Countdown). In the video there’s a lot of Samsung gadgets used such as the Galaxy Note in which Jay reads the lyrics.

VII IV XIII is 7/4/13 written in Roman numbers. The album will be available on July 4th for Samsung users via the official app and on July 7th for the rest of the world.

When Tebow played for the Denver Broncos in 2011 the team winning streak was ended by the Patriots in week 15 with a 41–23 loss. They met again in the playoffs, where the Pats knocked the Broncos out in the second round.
