Born & raised in Hudson County, New Jersey by a single mother, Genesis spent many of her earlier years focusing on basketball and music. With a brother 5 years her elder who was heavily involved within the streets, she was exposed to a life that ended up influencing her to speak on her experiences. Losing her mother at 15 landed her in and out of foster homes which only made her skin thicker. Needless to say, writing lyrics became her biggest escape from life’s pressures.

After years of grinding and trying to get on her own two feet, Genesis began taking her writing abilities more serious. Now being able to give her music the dedication it deserves, she has been releasing singles, shooting music videos and slowly making her way on stages to exhibit the passion she has for her craft. Her gritty, versatile style of music amply demonstrates the survivor and hustler mentality she possesses. Genesis released her first full-length project on June 20th of 2018, which is also her birthday. She’s currently working on an EP titled Everything I Never Said, set to be released in 2019, which talks about heartbreak.
