You are an inspiration to me and my brothers, we were never big into the hip hop scene until you shattered that misconception that it’s all about drugs and being “hard”. Please keep up the amazing work and lyricism.

Lupe is an AMAZING gift to hip-hop music! I was recently introduced to his music in my college English class by my Professor, Mr. Fred W. Feltner. This man teaches at Ivy Tech Community College of Indiana; in Indianapolis. He is the kind of teacher that you wish you had, but you never get; however, I was blessed enough to have the incredibly lucky godsend to have him as my teacher! If you ever read this Professor Feltner, THANK YOU! Lupe’s message and refusal to follow the way “things” have always been done is not only admirable, but awe-inspiring!

One song that I have been listening to “constantly” is “The Instrumental”. There is “so” much truth in that song. How often do we as society plug-in and tune out? Hey, if it is on television, then it must be true right? The magical box with the tiny pictures of people on it says it is so; therefore, it must be so. No one would lie on television. How could they? Except that they do, and too many disillusioned, ill-educated people will believe “anything” that it tells them.

Ezekiel 1:5 — 1:13. It was written. This is war and you Lupe are on the Lords side. Subliminal messages can be used for good as well. Play bruno Mars backwards. He say he is with the Lord. We are starting to use there weapons against them. Hey, Im poor, I don’t got a job, my baby mama hate me, but I never been happier because I have front row seats to the real clash of the titans. It will be a sight to behold. I would really look into your family tree Lupe, I have a feeling you are related to Ezekiel. Yeah I said it. Tribes of Judea are dark skinned people. It was written. FYI, I am white man from Houston Tx. Don’t confuse me with the white devil that walks the earth. We are all not him. He is from the synagogue of satan. He is what Rev. 2:9 speaks of when he says “I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan. I like MLK have a dream that one day the KKK and the New Black Panthers come together and crush the real enemy that has put us against each other. Praise Jesus, Love God AKA Allah. We are separated by Satan.

Lupe’s music is inspirational, I’m missing him on twitter though :(

My other “fav” right now is “The Words I Never Said”. Pick a line in that song, and I could talk for hours. The lyric “It’s so loud inside my head with words that I should have said, as I drown in my regrets I can’t take back the words I never said”, has so much depth to it, it is sadly, and “extremely” true! In the video for this song, everyone on the bus that Lupe gets on is wearing a sort of gag. The irony of this is that they are not silent by force, but by choice. They had a voice, and they “chose” not to use it.

Normally, a person regrets something that they said, and that they wish that they could “take back”. The other people on the bus though, never used the voice that they had to begin with. How often do we stay silent for fear of disappointment, fear of being ridiculed, and fear of not “fitting-in”? When will we ever take a stand, choose to defy the norm, and challenge what we know is not right? They say that genuine heroes do not accept the world the way that it is, and that they seek to change it. I ask you then, what have you ever done to change the world?

Thank You Lupe. When I first saw the name of the song I thought to myself “I hope this dosent degrade women” then I listened to it and I’m sorry for even thinking that. Also I think its good your going to stay of the cameras for awhile its good for people to get away from all of that good luck man

I agree with you. I was never one to listen to this genre of music myself, and for that “exact” reason. Too much foul language and the constant degredation of women as nothing more than mere eye candy, or accessories to controlling men. I am so glad that you have discovered that Lupe’s music could not be further than that awful stereotype of this kind of music. It is awesome to meet a fellow fan!

I would love to contrast this with a similarly constructed video but with Gucci Mane or Soulja Boy or Waka Flocka talking about their songs.

Hey Lupe, I’m a huge fan. I grew up an alternative fan but I listen to some hip hop (only the good stuff) and you’re my favorite out of those because you keep it real and you have never disappointed (all your albums are very good and I can’t wait for Tetsuo and Youth) and you’re the best lyricist out there.

My favorite rapper. Keep it up man!
