Miles Canady, 20, makes art as therapy, and to reach out to anyone who needs it. Dealing with depression from a young age, he says his reactive demeanor as the ‘quiet, weird kid in school’ lead to bullying, and a deeper aloneness. He’s found a voice in character-based expression of daily life, with Prince Pastel as a self on his more confident, more heroic days; Miles cited Pharrell Williams, Donald Glover and Tyler, The Creator as his greatest inspirations. With “Healer: A Short Film About Moving Forward,” a sequel LP to 2017’s “Introvert: A Short Film About Mental Health,” coming soon, Miles has proven he has a lot to say. ~ Cleo Graves
