6ix season is officially here. Today Drake dropped two songs—“Pop Style” featuring Jay Z and Kanye West as The Throne, and “One Dance,” a club track featuring Nigerian producer Wizkid and a singer named Kyla.
Turns out Kyla’s verse is actually a sample from a classic UK funky anthem from 2008 called “Do You Mind.” The track is produced by Crazy Cousinz, leaders in the distinctly British genre that combines elements from afrobeat, soca, dancehall, and UK garage and house music.
