Ice Spice Expertly Flips An Old Meme With New Song “Think U The Shit (Fart)”

A viral snippet of the song has been popping off all month.

If you rap about farts, people will pay attention. For the last few weeks, based purely on the strength of a viral snippet, Ice Spice has held firm in the Top 10 of the Genius Top Songs chart with “Think U The Shit (Fart).” Today, at long last, the full version arrives, marking the Bronx drill-pop sensation’s first single of 2024.

Produced by longtime Ice Spice collaborator RIOTUSA alongside Synthetic and Venny, “Think U The Shit (Fart)” is a laundry list of hilarious boasts set to a playful dance-rap beat. The song begins with the chorus, which includes the line that got everyone talking earlier this month. Ice Spice didn’t coin the “fart” phrase—it’s been making the rounds on various social platforms for years—but she spits it like she did, and sometimes, that’s enough.

Think you the shit, bitch?
You not even the fart (Grrah)

In the first verse, Ice Spice talks up her own wealth and attractiveness. Catch her in Miami, partying with another woman’s man.

Take-takin’ her man (Takin’ her man)
Don’t give a fuck (Don’t give a fuck)
Out in the Yams (Out in the Yams)
And I’m keepin’ one tucked (Keepin’ one tucked)

At the start of the second verse, Ice Spice takes aim at another unnamed female foe. Her use of “the floor” and “my son”—a frequent insult leveled by Ice Spice booster Nicki Minaj—has led some Genius users to believe Ice is dissing “Put It On Da Floor” rapper Latto, who’s beefed with Minaj in the past.

I got my foot on they necks, I can’t let up (Grrah)
She all on the floor, told her get up (Get up)
She my son, but I ain’t her mammy (I ain’t her mammy)

Ice Spice ends the verse with nods to Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and JAY-Z and Kanye West’s most iconic Watch the Throne hit.

I said, “Mirror, mirror, who the fairest?” (Huh?)
Leave a bum nigga lookin’ embarrassed (Like)
Spent a hundred-fifty on some carats (Grrah)
That shit cray like them niggas in Paris
