Dreamville rapper Bas returns today with the excellently titled We Only Talk About Real Shit When We’re Fucked Up, his fourth studio album and first since 2018’s Milky Way.
Guests on the 17-track project include J. Cole, FKJ, Amaarae, AJ Tracey, Sha Sha, Blxckie, and A$AP Ferg. The album features the previously released tracks “179 Deli,” “Khartoum,” “Ho Chi Minh,” “Passport Bros,” and “Diamonds”. Speaking recently with New Wave, Bas described the unusual way “Passport Bros,” which features J. Cole, came together.
“I’ll tell you why I love that record so much,” Bas said. “We did that song about a month ago and I’d never done a song, shot a video and released it so quickly. It was very much about just having a good ass time and it was really authentic.”
